I want to be a Cinderella!!

E~to.. I just finished watching this tanpatsu (one episode long) drama, called Cinderella Ni Naritai!!. The drama has the cast of Okura Tadayoshi (from Kanjani 8) and Sano Yasuomi. Their names might not really hit the note if you're not 1. a Kanjani 8's fan. 2. An avid fans of all Japanese drama and had managed to catch either one of them in one of your dramas, (ex. Sano-kun in 3 nen b gumi Kinpachi Sensei, or Okura-kun in Utahime).

I watched the drama out of curiosity after reading the synopsis in drama wiki: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Cinderella_ni_Naritai%21. The drama provides a refreshing twist to the ever-so-popular Cinderella (she is my favorite princess in the whole Disney's princesses gang). While usually Cinderella theme tends to pay more attention to ladies as the main character, Cinderella ni Naritai gives you a glimpse that a prince actually needs a princess charming to come and rescue him as well. The drama proves to be warm, and provides positive self-esteem boasts in a simple yet sweet format. Like the Cinderella in the fairy-tale, this Cinderella also needs some help from his fairy god-mother, whom comes in the form of a scientist this time around. Glass shoe is usually used as the connector between the prince and Cinderella, here Touch and Ribbons are used as the connector between the princess and Cinderella (watch the movie to understand me). Thinking hard is not required for this movie. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
I recommend this movie as a weekend laid back movie, where you can share a laugh and the "awww so sweet" with your gal pals or by yourself (as in my case), or a gentle reminder to your boy/girlfriend who likes to take Victoria's Secret or CK's models as a comparison to you. :)

Like the saying goes: "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". So Behold, beauty might actually in front of your eyes. Be very careful not to miss it, cos "a man's lost is another man's gain"

Save the best for last..

I know I will lose one more motivation to come to work starting next week, 16 April 2008. My love, Chai Yean will be leaving our company to become SIA Girl. I totally happy for her when I heard the news. I know that she will be one of the best girl flying and she will bring lots of positive effects on the passenger with her friendly and bubbly personality. It's just that..I will miss her so damn lot... After most of our compariots fell to the attack of resignation's bombs, Chai Yean is one of the few where I could always seek for comfort when my days were totally stupid and/or crazy. Those who have never appreciated her in her department are like people losing the diamond in front of their eyes. Or should I say,.. the diamond is there but the people are too ignorant (a polite way of saying, Stupid) to see and thought that the diamonds are rock-sugar?.Oi Hellow.. rock-sugar is not shining you know, it's only S$1.50 per packet.. so A-Dear...fly and be the sparkling diamond inside that A380, k? I pray for your very best always.

The lesson that I learned came from one of our mutual colleague, Susan, she told me and Yean, "You know, you (as in Chai Yean) are one of the colleague that I will truly miss when you're gone" I thought about her words and I thought it was beautiful (ok I'm wierd)..the meaning is beautiful, it means that you are actually gaining something more from your work. You are gaining blessings and prayers. This is the example of when bad people leave:( this is a fact, i've heard it in my company) "Walau, that stupid idiot, its better that she just dropped dead" or when its your last day, your department celebrates by opening a bottle of champagne, then you know you have actually accomplished something unimportant. I know some people who doesn't really give damn about this thing, but memories last a lifetime. Just think about it, you are forever be remembered as your very best, (as in sweet-natured, respectful to people, nice, helpful, honest, diligent, kind, etc) people will automatically wish and pray for the very best when they remember you. I don't want to know what people wish you when you're opposite from all of the above. Anytime in my life, I want to be remembered as the best I could be. I want people to remember me with a smile and laughter rather that curses.

Which bring me to: my newly finished dorama: "Ashita No Kita Yoshio" starring Fumiyo Kohinata, Ryuhei Matsuda, Manami Konishi, Chiaki Kuriyama and Jun Kaname (who is very hot in suits, even though the director didn't even let him change his suits, it remained in the same colors till the very end of the drama, only when the last episode he wore a faded stripped grey instead of the usual plain dull grey). The story about a man, who felt that he is the unluckiest guy in the whole world, who decided to kill himself on his best-friend's death anniversary. Only 11 days left till his scheduled suicide's attempt and during this 11 days, he met up with people who would not only change his life but also had their lives changed by him. For more synopsis, please visit: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Ashita_no,_Kita_Yoshio.
WARNING: For those who loves Full presentation of Boy-bands' casts, i strongly advise please avoid (except of Jun Kaname, the other casts are not your usual Bishounen, except if you prefer A-pek to Hideaki Takizawa), not that the picture helps. Those with the love for action, sacarine sweet romantic flicks, high-school romance or fairy-tale endings as well as manga insipred doramas, should also think twice in watching this.
"Ashita.." started off, and remained slow pace until the very last episodes and the only thing that actually made the movie bear-able to watch is the ability of Kohinata-san in bringing Kita Yoshio to the audiences and to pierce your heart with sympathy for him, whether to advise him to just kill himself on the spot or not to kill himself. The casts did a really good job and blended together well, even though some of the characters were not really well-developed or exposed. The ending focused only on Kita Yoshio and left out all the other characters which is the only flaw the dorama made (other than the slow pace of the story)

What I found interesting in this dorama is that: "You might think that you are the unluckiest person in the world but when you might be the lucky charm for somebody else, which in the end makes you the luckiest person in the whole world, because you have people that will cherish you forever"

I received a comment today yay!! Luv you Jeng (^ <-> ^) !! Thanks for the comment. At least I know someone is reading.. T_T (tears of joy :) ) Dear Jeng: I really is thinking of jumping to another ship. Should I just swim to another ship because it felt so near but looked so far?

It ain't a masterpiece, but its by yours sincerely

I took some pics during my flight back from Jakarta. It's amazing to be able to capture a moon in daylight.
The sky is wonderfully blue that day and we could see the small islands.

Great Company makes Great Food

I found this Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill Restaurant because of my chinese tutor's invitation and I have been visiting them twice since then..
So far everything's been excellent...

The food and the environment, up till the portion, and the free breads and ice waters, remind me of the good ol days. The portion was so big, I couldn't really come up with an excuse how I could finish all off back then. The food is a classic American grill. Everything on the menu kinda compiled what I had been having so I could taste back some of the memories. Minus the company. It's not that I didn't enjoy the company of my families, but the atmosphere was totally different. I missed the crazy, no-direction-kinda conversation that we had, spontaneous "surprise" birthday for our friends, the small gossip sessions, the heart-to-heart talks over a bowl of pasta, or even attack-the-cat-attack-the-angmoh-behind-you dinner :). So the saying is really true "it takes a good company to make a food tastes better". As much as I hate to say this, Kim Sam-Soon said it perfectly when she said "when you eat with someone, you will know them better".

Some of Dan Ryan's Menu that I've tried: 1. French Onion Soup (pic 1), it's thick and flavorful but too much bread used so the soup got soaked up to fast, still prefer the TGIF version.
2. Potato Skin (pic 2), it's nice and cheesy enough and goes perfectly with the sour cream. Still acceptable (but I'm not a big fan of Potato Skin).
3. Seared Striploin Steak Salad (pic 3), it's a Dan Ryan's special salad, with generous amount of the meat. The nice thing about it is, the salad dressing complement with the meat's flavor. You will feel like you're actually eating a NY Sirloin Steak with veggies on the side :) (it sure is my favorite of all).
4. Then I've tried the Chicken Quesadilla(still in my cozin's camera). The Quesadilla can be considered ok if compared with Taco Bell's. But I still prefer Taco's anytime.
5. Penne with Rustica's sauce: Generous amounts of Chicken, Prawns, and the Rustica sauce. Flavorful and has that home-made feel.
6. Buffalo Wing's (Pic can be found besides Kim Sam Soon's name): Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful! For someone who has been dying for some hot and tangy Chicken Wings, this has been my favorite!. I have tried to find Chix wings that could compare to Pluckers' and this certainly is the best one so far. Can't get enough of it. You should learn to make yours better, Billy Bomber's!!!

7. Dan's Molten Chocolate Cake (should upload the pic for drooling effect) : Beautifully done. The cake is not too moist and the melting chocolate inside the cake is complementing the cake very well. Not too sweet but also not too bitter. Just nice. It's a must try for a Choco-holic.
8. Crème brûlée (should upload the pic for drooling effect # 2) : Wonderful! It's just all melt nicely inside your mouth without making you sick caused by the over-sweetness. It's a must try for those who don't like Chocolate cake.

In the end, a restaurant that gives you a romantic-Al Capone's inspired-Vintage American-feel with great foods and double dose of wonderful desserts who will not be love struck?
I let your drooling do the talking..

The ending of the day...

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."- C. S. Lewis

Missing my Pho..

Been skipping out of blogging for several days already..

I stepped inside my office today when I don't know who has been eating some noodle, but the smell made me remember about Pho... a good bowl of Beefball pho with lots of red onions and the flavorful soup..arghh made me remember the good old days when there's winter and the need to have something soupy... *Slurpy slurpzzz*
have not be able to find a really good Vietnamese-restaurant here in Singapore..the last one I tried was Miss Saigon near my hospital and the taste was okay, it just missed something I remembered back in Austin,...or can it be...the taste of youth? (^__^)

I learned something the other day, "be a people builder" what it means is you bring out the best of people around you. Be it, your parents, your siblings, your family members, your friends, everybody that you know. Because by bringing the best of people, you actually show how much you care and love them and in the end, you show love to the world and bring Glory to His name.

So.. I'm thinking..have I been a people-builder so far? ...

BTW, I was told by my colleague that I am going to receive a Service Star award, meaning that there's some patients that nominated me for my good service (lucky they never seen my bad-attitude-side). I am honored and am really thankful to those who had wrote my name in the feedback forms. Thank YOU!!! -but it won't change my decision to look for another "ship" to jump over to-

Love and Peace...
